Meet Kim Johnson

Producer/Documentary Filmmaker

 

Kim is an empathetic listener, thinker and a filmmaker. 

She has been a producer and documentary filmmaker for over 20 years. Her collaborative, naturalistic production approach sets her subjects at ease and results in films that convey poignant information, fresh thinking, and incisive observations which resonate powerfully with viewers. 

After receiving her BA from Duke University and MA from Stanford University in documentary film production, Kim’s career has included working as an ethnographic filmmaker/strategist for Interval Research, founded by Paul Allen of Microsoft as well as in television at CNN, BBC, PBS, and NBC Sports on a variety of international productions, including an Emmy-nominated film on Mt. Everest, with blind climber, Erik Weihenmayer, and team. 

Kim has extensive agency experience as senior producer and filmmaker at Crispin, Porter + Bogusky, where she applied her engaging filmmaking approach to qualitative market research projects for clients including Microsoft, Domino’s, Volkswagen, Best Buy and Coca Cola. Prior to CP+B, she worked at Radar Communications and engaged on projects with Levi Strauss, Starbucks, Toyota, and Herman Miller amongst others. Her most recent project portfolio includes Noodles&Co, Whole Foods Market, adidas, New Hope Networks and other clients in the health and wellness industries where Kim is continually working to capture relevant topics and communicate meaningful issues in the natural products industry development and growth. 

Kim lives in both Boulder, CO, and at her cabin on the water in Northern Minnesota. She is an active board member for the Boulder Symphony and is a big proponent of the arts as well as an outdoors enthusiast.

Dana Donley Morton

Dana is an expert moderator with over 15 years of experience uncovering the ”whys” behind consumer decision making. As a moderator, Dana is known for her friendly and unassuming presence allowing for a safe and comfortable experience. The way in which she holds the space encourages respondents to reveal the real emotions behind their purchase behaviors allowing for insights that will actually make a difference for the brand and their sales and marketing approach. 

Dana has also led client side marketing for several brands and is therefore keen to deliver insights that are actionable and valuable.

Over the span of her career, Dana served as Insights Manager at Radar Communications (a qualitative research firm) and Senior Cognitive Anthropologist at Crispin Porter Bogusky. Dana also worked in marketing departments at The North Face, Gaia, Google and Outdoor Industry Association. 

Ever fascinated by people, Dana thrives on bringing real people to life and understanding the emotion behind their thoughts and ultimate decisions. She is dedicated to delivering impactful insights to empower brands to make meaningful connections with their current and prospective consumers.

Benton Inscoe

After completing an undergraduate degree in sociology at the University of Colorado, Benton quickly realized that his passion was shooting video. He got his start making GoPro snow report and surf videos, and then took off to California and completed a degree in filmmaking at the Berkley Digital Film institute with a focus on cinematography. He is a gifted cinematographer, owns a complete set of the latest filmmaking gear and is a great asset to any production.
